The voting for the top 50 burlesque stars of 2011 is now open!
The gates are open, the votes are coming in and let the campaigns begin…wait WAIT! Thankfully this year campaigns and trawls for votes have been outlawed and therefore people can feel less pressured to vote for mates. Last year I received numerous emails from performers and troupes around the world as part of their newsletter asking for them to be voted for. Thankfully only one or two have been sent this year. The website clearly state this on the nomination page as well as the email to report such activities to…keep it fair…keep it sweet.
‘This is not a competition, or something that should encourage frantic voting campaigns. It is simply a chance for you to nominate the people who have impressed, excited, nurtured, inspired or entertained you in 2011.
We will count up your votes, and then count down from 50 to 1 at New Year!
Please read the following before nominating.
The TOP 50 poll has become very popular and thousands of you are nominating each year. We know there have been some concerns raised about a small minority that campaign for votes, send out repeat mass emails asking for votes, or organise friends and relations to vote for them repeatedly.
If you have in the past, or intend to do it this year, we would advise you not to waste your time. It is very obvious when we count the nominations, and we ensure that people don’t profit from it.
This is just a lighthearted, celebratory end of year poll guys – please nominate with integrity and enjoy the results when they come in.

I love what 21st Century Burlesque Online has done again this year with opening to nominations to those who arent performers. Finally those who help make our scene better can be recognised.
I am rather excited to see the new talents voted into the poll as this is for those that have impressed in 2011 only. I wanna see the movers and shakers of the burlesque world!

I want to nominate Ryder Moore. Yes, a straight male burlesque dancer who has impressed me time and time again with his Tango. This sexy stallion does a wizard Boylesque routine that can make Harry Potter look sexy. Yes Harry Potter. When he sings “Baby its Cold Outside” and dances it melts my icy heart. Just wanted to nominate Ryder Moore of the Keyhole Cabaret. His routines are always entertaining, exciting and fun.
