Fighting Talk

Here is the thing, I have been in this burlesque game for a number of years now. Whilst a lady shouldn’t divulge her age, I will say I have been on this path called life longer than some and believe me when I say I am a fighter. I am a brawler, a back yard street fighter and a down right bitch for burlesque. I am not about to let some person tear into me for something I do or how I do it. My burlesque may not be your taste, I may not be entering into every competition that appears or rhinestoning my asshole to impress. I perform because I want to entertain. I want to make people laugh, make them smile and if I choose to perform please dont insult me with your wise cracks about my ass (see what I did there!?) or how I look a whore.

The thing is with me, I stand for much more than just to be your abuse target. I would say man up but to be honest BURLESQUE THE BITCH UP. I am not about to take insults on how I do my ‘thang’ laying down. Be that on a rhinestoned throne or a bloody IKEA sofa as I am writing this.

If you think you know all there is to know about burlesque, guess again. Its a changing community, a transient art form and one that you cant encapsulate in a single sentence…unless it is a million words long. Welcome to burlesque. We are huge, feel free to pick a fight but you will lose.

  1. If men say something ignorant it is because they are insecure of themselves. Gypsy Rose Lee started burlesque to show how woman can be sexy with dignity and class. You show all of these qualities. Do not let their evil statements hurt you. Stay strong.

  2. *coughs* Rhinestoned ass? Now that could be interesting. …or maybe one if those googley eyes stuck on the end of a plug?

You go girl! I love your brand of f*ck ’em xx
